About Us

DONKYA was founded in Austria in 2022 by a group of people who are passionate about caring for nature and its life.

Since our beginnings we have been active in the protection and preservation of our natural areas and in a specific way to reach our goal of renaturation and protection of nature and its diversity. We focus on fundamental areas such as regeneration of the soil and ecosystems, healthy and sustainable food and the work with communities.

Mision

Our mission is to protect and restore nature and its biodiversity. We contribute and work for the conservation of living ecosystems, through the development of different actions and education to support both communities and nature. We are committed to promote and to establish ways of living that brings humans and nature together.

Vision

Our Vision is to be one of the most emblematic spokespersons and actor for the care of natural resources together with the conservation of native ecosystems and the advancement of sustainable developed with an ecological approach.

Desertification of the Planet

It is more than clear that the earth’s land surface is continuously in a process of degradation. It is estimated that more than 75% of the world’s land surface is in the chaotic process of desertification.

Considering that not only the extreme behavior of climate contributes to this problem but also activities such as the excessive use of water in agricultural irrigation, logging of forests for timber, monocultures and livestock extensions as well as land clearing for housing construction and large monopolies.

Deforestation

Deforestation is massively destroying forests and jungles and causing immense damage to soil quality.

According to our logic, there is no reason to justify the indiscriminate felling of native forests and jungles; currently this practice is related to agriculture and cattle raising. By means of logging and fire, forests are destroyed without purpose to continue with these wholesale activities, which are constantly destructive for the land, biodiversity and our ecosystem.

Quality of Life and Food

For a good quality of life and nutrition we must start from the seed “literally” as it goes without saying that “we are what we eat”. At present we do not even know 25% of the origin of the food we have in our kitchen.

Currently more than 80% of a healthy human diet has to do with plants and three fundamental cereals such as rice, corn and wheat.

Considering that the concentration of industries that process our food today are very general and controlled, we can take for granted that many of the native species covering the whole range of plants are disappearing as well as their quality, not to mention the use of agrochemicals, environmental toxins and air and water pollution.
